First Lady Laura
Bush visited the Howard University Hospital's Center for Infectious
Disease Management and Research (CIDMAR) on Tuesday, June 19, as
part of an ongoing effort to raise awareness of HIV/AIDS in the
United States. Approximately 1 million Americans have the disease
and an estimated 25 percent of those infected do not know they have
the virus.

E. Wilson, M.D., M.A.C.P., has
been appointed senior vice
president for Health Sciences to
the Howard University Health
Sciences Enterprise, effective
August 1, 2007.
